I've been tagged!

I've been tagged by EmptyMaggot!

1. Post these rules.
2. Each tagged person must post 10 things about themselves on their journal.

1) I love the "Dune" series and can't wait for the next installment of the new books in 2011!
2) Despite how it looks, I'm really not a Slipknot fan- their music is way too angry and heavy for my tastes and has too much going on sound-wise.
3) I can't hold liquor but I can hold a grudge for years
4) I have every historical American Girl doll and 6 modern ones.
5) I like AG so much I woke up at 5 AM to go to Chicago when their new historical doll was debuted.
6) Sometimes I go away on the weekends for no reason at all. Just because I want to.
7) I realize how lucky I am to be able to pay bills with my art.
8) I have no tolerance for racist and homophobic people.
9) I'm a very private, almost socially phobic person
10) Mushroomhead are some of the sweetest guys I know and I can't wait to see their show the night before I graduate college

I tag...

An idea...

I decided to scrap my bad taste doll idea. Certain events at school kind of killed my motivation streak and I'm just now feeling creative again.

I may, however, make a line of SIMPLE Slipknot plushies that are about 12" high. Relatively simple masks and hair (thinking yarn hair or I'll see what's leftover in my hair and fur stash).

I'll see how many I can cut out over the weekend. I may sell them for $20 each plus shipping.

Rude things to ask an artist

Don't get me wrong, SOME artists will work for free or for trade. I'm not one of them. I actually can't afford to be one of them ;)

Here's questions I hate:
1.) Will you work for free?
2.) Will you work for website credit/movie credit/some sort of credits
3.) Will you trade? (I know some on here do, I can't afford to be one of them right now ;) )
4.) Can I have it?

Just assume we all want money for our work. If you like something an artist has and would like something similar, it's actually polite to ask "I'd like something like this. How do I go about getting one?". I promise you it gets a better response than if you asked something like the above questions! Plus, I'm also more inclined to be rather generous if I have leftover supplies.

Why did you join this site?
It seemed like a fun, easy way for my work to reach a wide audience and maybe get some commissions for myself without the expense of a full-blown website.

What does your username have to do with you? Is it a combination of your favorite things, or a character of yours?
The Dollmaker: because I am the Dollmaker! :) I make dolls... it's what I do!

What is your current icon of?
It's a picture my sister found online of a baby with a buzz-saw hand. "Got Pediophobia" is a fancy way of saying "Scared of dolls?".

How many watchers do you have and how many people are you currently watching?
I believe I have 21 people watching me. I follow those who follow me.

Do you have more than one account?
Nope.

Name 3 of your favorite artists on DA.
Kitsune-aka-Cettie (she makes digital art look traditional!)
Taho (her watercolors are amazing!)
Zeldam (takes beautiful photos)

What deviant do you admire because of their personality?
EmptyMaggot... we have fun text convos!

How many people on here do you actually know in reality? Post their avatars (I'm just gonna post his name!).
Wat_tnb

Do you comment, fave, or both?
I try to do both. Just because I don't comment or fave doesn't mean I don't appreciate it when it shows up in my 'New Deviations'!!

What do you typically post on deviantart?
My dolls that I make.

Do you participate in clubs or contests here on DA?
No

What is your most popular deviation?
Little Wednesday 13 is my most popular deviation, he's at [link]

What's your favorite submission in your favorites gallery?
[link] "God Blessed me with a gay son" because I think it is touching that a mother is thankful for her son and takes pride in him.

What are the things you wish you could draw better?
Noses, hands, but I don't generally draw.

Are you a subscriber?
no

How many hours a day do you spend on DA?
Depends if I am uploading work and responding to comments and messages

Are you a fast, slow, or medium typer?
fast

What is the most annoying thing people ask you?
If I can get them tickets/backstage/merchandise from Slipknot or Wednesday 13. Just because Wed13 has my work doesn't mean I know him personally!!!

What is the most annoying comment you get?
Don't have any

What inspires you?
Music, Tim Burton movies

Do you use any traditional media?
Yes

Do you associate people online with their icons?
No

Have you ever suggested a Daily Deviation?
no

Everyone has considered leaving DA once or twice. Have you? Why?
No, I haven't. It's a great way to reach a wide audience.

I had a sudden inspiration for a terrible, horrible, snorting the line to bad-taste doll idea but the question is...

Say if I made a doll of a terrible person, and he was depicted as graphically dead and corpse-like (but still somewhat "cute" in my "Ugly Baby" sort of way) and basically making a mockery of them...

If I made such a thing, would you buy it if I listed it on EBay or someplace like that?

Speaking of buying stuff... I do have plushie-voodoo dollies on sale for dirt cheap at this [link]
